RATIONAL CHOICE JUAL-BELI BARANG COUNTERFEIT
Abstract
This study analyzes the phenomenon of trade in counterfeit goods with the theory of rational choice. This analysis explains the causal factors that drive the buying and selling of counterfeit goods. The research was conducted at New Outlet Biru (OB), Yogyakarta, where the trade in counterfeit goods took place. The information wasinferred from three sources, one merchant and two buyers. Factors that influence the sale of counterfeit goods i.e. price, quality, trends, demand, location references, and self-perception. This research uses qualitative methods to provide an overview and understanding of the trade in counterfeit goods. The results of the study are dynamic with a descriptive model that describes the findings of information when the research is related to the rampant trade in counterfeit goods.
